Diagnostic Features
- Size: 47 µm x 37 µm (range:40-60 µm x 30-50 µm)
- Shape: Oval
- Colourless
- Shell has 2 membranes: an outer membrane and an inner membrane
- No thick striated embryophore like in Taenia eggs
- Two polar thickenings on inner membrane that has 4-8 polar filaments
- Contains a 6-hooked oncosphere inside shell
