Diagnostic Features
- Show active amoeboid movement, when live
- Size: 15 – 20 µm (range 10 – 60 µm)
- Shape: Irregular with finger-like pseudopodia
- 01 nucleus; Evenly distributed peripheral chromatin on nuclear membrane
- Small, centrally located karyosome in nucleus
- Cytoplasm is finely granular and may contain ingested RBCs
