Diagnostic Features
  • Size: 47 µm x 37 µm (range:40-60 µm x 30-50 µm)
  • Shape: Oval
  • Colourless
  • Shell has 2 membranes: an outer membrane and an inner membrane 
  • No thick striated embryophore like in Taenia eggs
  • Two polar thickenings on inner membrane that has 4-8 polar filaments
  • Contains a 6-hooked oncosphere inside shell
